Notes on using the service

Service availability

The banking service is not available in the time period below.

  • No transactions can be processed between 23:50 and 0:05 every day due to maintenance.
    • * If you are making a transaction and it is not complete by 23:50, you will need to redo the transaction after 0:05.
    • * On the first Monday of each month, transactions can be made from 1:00 onward.
    • * You cannot make any transactions between 18:00 and 3:00 (the following day) on the second Wednesday of each month.
  • You cannot start a transaction to open an account between 23:00 and 0:05.
  • You cannot start any transactions between 23:30 and 0:05.

About the Yucho Tetsuzuki App

  • In this app, you can only carry out transactions for ordinary accounts and saving accounts.
  • For transactions from this app, we accept only applications from individual customers who themselves are account holders.
  • The screens shown may differ from the actual screens. Please understand that the screens are subject to change without prior notification.
  • Network charges apply for downloading, updating, and using the app.

About transactions with the Yucho Tetsuzuki App

Opening an account

  • Please note that the only type of account that you can apply to open from this app is a bankbook-free general account "Yucho Direct + (Plus)”.
  • If you require a bankbook, you can request it (switching to a bankbook-type account) on an ATM that has a bankbook carry-over function using the cash card that was issued. For bankbook-free general account "Yucho Direct + (Plus)” opened on or after April 7, 2025, the first request made within two months of opening your account is free (then the standard fee applies).
  • If you have a residence card, the Operation Support Center will need to confirm the details of your application.
    Please understand that this confirmation can take more than a week in some cases. The confirmation result will be sent to you at the e-mail address you provided when you use the app.
  • After opening an account, your cash card will be sent by simple registered mail with no forwarding required to the address you provided. If you plan to move in the near future, please complete the procedures after you have moved (automatic forwarding is not available).
  • You cannot register your stamp when opening an account with this app.
    For customers who need to register their personal stamp to set up automatic payments for their public utility charges from their bank account or for other such purposes, first open an account and then take your IC cash card, the stamp you wish to register, and a personal identification document with a photo
    (residence card, etc.) to the savings counter of the nearest Japan Post Bank or post office savings counter and complete the procedure.
  • If you are a foreign national, you cannot open a children’s account with this app.
    Please visit your nearest Japan Post Bank or post office savings counter to do this.

Declaration of customer info

  • In the declaration of your period of stay, etc., the information displayed on your residence card may not be read correctly in some cases.
    If this information still cannot be read after several attempts, please visit your nearest Japan Post Bank or post office savings counter to do this.

Change address

  • It may not be possible to change your address in some cases, such as cases in which you cannot find your address with a zip code search.
  • If you are a foreign national, you cannot change your name with this app. Please visit your nearest Japan Post Bank or post office savings counter to do this.

Reset your PIN

  • Please understand that even in the case of a cash card for a proxy, the person whose name the card is registered to must perform the transaction.
  • If you have entered an incorrect PIN more than the permitted number of times, resulting in a lock being placed on your bankbook, it will not be automatically unlocked even after reset your PIN.
    To unlock it, you will need to visit your nearest Japan Post Bank or post office savings counter.

Have a bankbook/cash card reissued

  • If you wish to have a lost or stolen card reissued, please first contact us using the contact details below.

    • From overseas: 045-279-6201 (call charges apply)
  • The Operation Support Center will reissue your card once the details of your application have been confirmed. If there are any problems with the information you have provided in your application, you will be contacted via the e-mail address you provided when you use the app.
  • Please understand that even in the case of reissuing a cash card for a proxy, the person whose name the card is registered to must perform the transaction.
  • The procedure for bankbook carry over cannot be performed with this app. It can be performed at some ATMs, or at a Japan Post Bank or Post Office savings counter.
  • Prescribed fees will be charged depending on the reason for requesting reissuance.
  • If you suspect a magnetic strip malfunction in a bankbook or cash card, you can restore the magnetic data (free of charge) at an ATM if you have an IC cash card.
  • Please understand that we cannot accept requests for withdrawal of applications.
  • If your name or address for delivery has changed from the one you provided, the reissuing procedure is not available. Please update your address and name before starting the procedure. You can change your address with this app, and change your name at your nearest Japan Post Bank or post office savings counter.

Supported devices are smartphones with a camera and an IC chip reading function (NFC function).

  • iPhone users: iOS 16 or later
  • Android users: Android 12 or later
  • * The app may not function correctly in environments other than those above.
    Even in the environments noted above, there may also be some restrictions on operation and other aspects of the app due to device-specific issues and environments. Thank you for your understanding.
  • * The details above shall be updated as necessary in the event of the termination of support by manufacturers or the release of new versions, etc.
  • * This app cannot be used on a tablet.
